ART FOR IMPACT VERNISSAGE: ROSA MUNDI’S NEOSPACIALISM & ANGELO ACCARDI – ICARUS’ DREAM
Followed by a silent auction – All proceeds go to our Ocean Plastic Recovery project, a joint program with PLASTIKS.
Join us for an open day where art and impact converge. Experience a refined vernissage featuring Rosa Mundi’s Neospacialism. Rosa Mundi has created armillary spheres for over thirty years, using reclaimed historical materials such as old wine barrels, iron, wood, and recycled sea glass and plastic. These elements are transformed into enchanting canvases, where transparency is central to her artistic exploration and the movement she founded—NEOSPACIALISM. This movement redefines spatial concepts by restoring the viewer’s perception of the infinite, beyond Lucio Fontana’s iconic cuts.
For over a decade, Rosa Mundi’s armillary spheres, crafted from natural and human-made waste like iron, marble, copper, bronze, wood, glass, plastic, and pigments derived from plant residues and marine creatures such as jellyfish, have become a signature of her work. Each sphere is a unique narrative, delicate yet profound, offering a three-dimensionality that transcends traditional canvases. These pieces, painted from the inside, utilize natural and dried pigments, creating a double transparency that interacts with light in a way that reveals the infinity of both the artwork and the viewer’s gaze.
In addition, immerse yourself in the surreal world of Angelo Accardi with his work, “ICARUS’ DREAM.” Accardi’s playful, surrealistic canvases blend the compositional elegance of Old Masters and the figuration of Classical sculpture with pop culture references. His works juxtapose Hellenic forms and iconic artworks with elements like purple rhinoceroses, bodybuilders, oversized sneakers, and Spider-Man, uncovering the absurdity within both contemporary and historical narratives. Accardi’s art has been showcased in major cities including New York, London, Moscow, Rome, Miami, and more.
The evening will culminate in a silent auction, set against the stunning backdrop of Palazzo Donà Dalle Rose. This exclusive event is designed to raise awareness and funds for sustainable initiatives.
